Publishing every day for 20 days

I owe my friend $5 for every day I miss.

To kick things off on this new blog, I’ve decided to publish every day for 20 days. I also have an accountability arrangement: I owe my friend Rohan $5 for every day I miss.

This is Day 5.

Writing online is important to me for a few reasons.

In the new attention economy, being legible is akin to economic existence

I’ve historically been a reserved and private person, but I’m realizing that identity wasn’t serving me well. Life is more fun when you dare to connect and collaborate with others, and I’m looking forward to that.

Creating change in the world starts through your voice

“In the beginning was the Word” and all. By getting my message out there, I get to highlight and platform things I think are important and beneficial to my peers in this global community.

In a world increasingly flooded by AI slop, sensationalist bait, and inauthentic / sponsored content, I consider it a moral duty to add more signal to a sea of noise. I welcome this opportunity to constructively shape discourse, rather than passively complain.

I want to practice communicating all the wild ideas in my head

I often feel as if I have much to say, but I’m unsure of how to go about saying it. I look forward to the daily practice of translating my internal reality into something external and tangible.

I watched a YouTube video recently where the host dropped some amazing wisdom, and someone in the comments said something like “Wow! Keep giving voice to your thoughts!” — and I thought, what a great affirmation.

I often have many thoughts racing around in my mind, but am not great at giving them voice. Perfectionism and overanalysis make me feel stuck, which gets frustrating. If I can find 10% more ease through practice, that would be a huge success.

This challenge is about showing up with consistency, authenticity, and trusting the process.

See you tomorrow.
